The six leftmost columns contain information on the actual census form.  The Seq. column 
was not used consistently. Some census takers began each family with the number 1 and then 
numbered each family member sequentially.  Others numbered the families on a page sequentially
and did not number each family member.  Still others did not number the individuals at all.  
In the Seq. column I have sometimes added a - to indicate the assumed head of the family. A
search of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) records was made for the earliest land record 
for heads of family.  The section number of that record is shown in the Land Record column.  
When no record was found, ---------- is shown.  The index number was created as follows:

1.  A line number was assigned to each individual on a page beginning with 1 on each page.

2.  If the census form had a page number that number was also recorded.  Pages without numbers
were assigned page numbers.

3.  Each group of township files was assigned an arbitrary number between 10 and 99 in 
the same order as the file groups appeared in the images directory (with exceptions for the 
so-called X files).

4.  Finally the index number was created by adding the line number of step 1, 100x page number
of step 2 and 10000x the step 3 number.

The purpose of the index number is two-fold.  (1) Once the entire database is combined, one can 
always get back to the original order by sorting on the Index column alone.  (2) To create a
Surname ordered final document, the data are first sorted by surname and then by Index number.
This preserves the order of the family members as shown on the census form.  Within a surname
section, the order is not necessarily by given name of the family head as may be expected, 
but is instead in order of Township names.  

The census names and age have been compared with those in the Bob Dale's "A Collection of Obituaries".
The comments column indicates the obituary date when a match was found. Note: In general, if a 
good obituary match for the head of household was found, the comparison was ended. No doubt there 
are many more matches that can be made.
