  Note: All of the above information was derived from the death record of Carolina. I think that this surname should be Wahl and not Lehr. There was a Sophia Gottschalk living in Kassel at the time of this child's death but she was married to Andreas Wahl and they had a daughter Karolina who was born 6 August 1875. The death record for Carolina was extracted with the surname Lehr. Ed Schultz when proofing the record checked it as being correct as Lehr. In an independent extraction of this death record Dale Wahl extracted the surname as Lehr. So it seems clear that the surname was incorrectly recorded as Lehr in 1875. A recheck of the record may be in order. The record numbers is 1884082-2-090-040. This is a Reformed record. - Harold M. Ehrman
